Communication

Everyone talks, each in their own language, and nobody sees more than they should.

Organizers, commissioners, judges and exhibitors rarely share a language, and the jury must not be reachable by the people it judges. Stamp.Show gives the expo one place for its conversations, with the rules of an exhibition built in.

Why it makes the expo easier

One place, not a hundred threads

Messages live inside the expo, tied to the exhibit or the country they are about. No more e-mail chains, personal addresses or lost attachments, and the history stays with the role, not with a person.

Write in your language, read in yours

Everyone writes in their own language and reads the answers in theirs, translated automatically. A switch on each message shows the original, so nothing is lost in translation.

Privacy by design

Judges stay anonymous to exhibitors. Organizer and jury messages reach exhibitors only through their country's commissioner, who relays them. The jury speaks to commissioners as one voice.

The right information at the right time

A commissioner sees the jury's scores and notes only after the organizer publishes the results, and the jury's channels close for good at that moment.

Nobody is left without a channel

A country without a commissioner falls back to a direct line with the organizer, and the organizer has one inbox for everything that needs an answer.

Quiet by default

Unread messages are grouped into one e-mail per person after a few minutes, instead of one e-mail per message. Nobody has to keep the page open.

Who talks to whom

Each conversation has a purpose and a boundary, so the people in it always know who is on the other side.

Exhibitor ↔ Commissioner

One conversation per exhibit, with the commissioner of the exhibitor's country. Questions about an exhibit stay with that exhibit.

Organizer → Commissioners

Write to one commissioner or to all of them. The commissioner relays the message to one exhibitor or to the whole country, as it is or edited.

Commissioner → Exhibitors

Relayed messages reach the exhibitor as coming from the organization or the jury, via their commissioner. The exhibitor's questions can be forwarded back up, quoted.

Jury ↔ Commissioner

For each exhibit, the assigned judge team talks to the commissioner of the exhibitor's country. The commissioner sees one voice, never the judges' names.

Jury team ↔ Organizer

Judge teams reach the organizer about an exhibit or about the team in general, and the organizer sees who is writing.

Organizer ↔ Exhibitor

When a country has no commissioner, organizer and exhibitor talk directly. If one is named later, the history moves to them.

Questions about communication

Can exhibitors see who the judges are?

No. Judges are anonymous to exhibitors, and the jury reaches them only through the commissioner, who sees the jury as one voice.

Which language do I write in?

Your own. Each person reads every message in the language of their interface, and can switch any message back to the original.

Are the translations reliable?

They are automatic and meant to make the message understood. The original is always one click away, and your own messages are never translated for you.

Do I get an e-mail for every message?

No. Messages that stay unread are grouped into a single e-mail with the number of unread messages per conversation. People who already read them get nothing.

Can the jury be contacted after the results?

The jury's channels close for good once the results are published. By then the exhibitors have their medals and the jury's comments.
